'The Joy of Books in a Pandemic' ???
“You see, bookshops are dreams built of wood and paper. They are time travel and escape and knowledge and power. They are, simply put, the best of places.”- Jen Campbell
I love to support local and independent bookshops, which is more important than ever during this weird and unpredictable time.
Gulliver’s bookshop
Gulliver’s bookshop for a while and it really didn’t disappoint. It is a family run bookshop, wonderfully warm and well-stocked with a great selection of books and stunning Christmas decorations - including some very creative window displays!
I had fun browsing today and picked out a couple of new books to look forward to reading in the new year!
Toppings
Now that the recent lockdown has been lifted, it was great to revisit this truly wonderful bookshop again. One of my favourite places in Bath! What a blessing it is to love books
the booksellers are always super helpful and lovely!
I went in with a little list of things to pick up and they had almost everything in stock that I wanted to get.
Knowing that I won’t be able to get out and about for shopping through most of November, I treated myself to a few bits this morning and also got a few early Christmas gifts for friends.
Westbourne
Couldn’t resist popping in to @westbournebookshop quickly earlier! It is such a great little indie bookstore and I love visiting whenever I’m in the area.
Ringwood
My friend Nicola and I were mistaken for Waterstones booksellers today!
THE ULTIMATE COMPLIMENT 🥰🤓
A couple of very sweet older ladies started asking us about a specific author i hadn’t heard of, I think mainly because we were chatting with one another about what we’d been reading most recently. Sorry we couldn’t help lovelies!
It was lovely to be back shopping in @waterstonesringwood today - it’s been a little while since my last visit. It was really quiet inside too and I spent a long time browsing before I decided on a couple of new hardbacks to pick up. Definitely lifted my mood after the chaos of yesterday!
